About Author Mette Jakobsen

Mette has shoulder length blond hair tumbling over her shoulders. Wearing a white blouse, she stands smiling with piercing blue eyes, with her arms folded leaning against a brick wall.

Originally from Denmark, Mette Jakobsen now resides in Sydney. She is an adventurer, author and playwright.

Mette’s novels have been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Book Prize, topped the Indie Book List, and mentioned on Oprah's Booklist. She has taught creative writing at universities and several of her plays have been broadcast on ABC Radio National.

Mette is a lover of old sailboats, snorkelling and of having far too many indoor plants.

When Mette is not writing, she’s either travelling (preferably to cold, icy places) or catching up on the newest dystopian tv series.
